Jacob Green is a Blues Singer-Songwriter who has been described as a modern-day rambler, who brings a fresh approach to Roots Music. He’s an OneManBand & Multi-String Instrumentalist, performing on Acoustic Guitar, Dobro, Cigar Box Guitar, Banjo & Mandolin while simultaneously playing Stomp Box & Foot Tambourine for percussion and Harmonica for lead. Originally from Wisconsin, Jacob has toured in 40 states in the U.S. total, averaging 140 shows a year, and now resides in the Green Mountain State of Vermont.

His love for music began at a young age, at 10 years old he began playing Violin in the school orchestra, then starting a punk band as a freshman in High School, and even experimented with hip hop by the time he graduated. Jacob has written original material since the young age of 12, and at the age of 21, he got his first acoustic guitar and attempted to make a living at what he was most passionate about, Music.

He’s had Musical Homes all over the country, from Northern California to Colorado, or the Southern Appalachia States & of course where it all began in his home state of Wisconsin.

Jacob has been on a musical journey for the better part of the last decade, and he’s got a strong back catalog of music to show for it.

He’s also collaborated with musicians from all over the country, leading Wisconsin based bands: Jacob Green & The Grit and River Water Tribe. Plus, California based band: Jacob Green & Friends And now, his Vermont based band goes simply by Jacob Green Band.

Jacob Green & The Grit began in 2007 in his hometown of Beloit, Wisconsin. With sounds of Electric Blues & Punk Rock undertones. They built a strong local following, but it was short-lived, as the band became less active, Jacob felt the need to travel more and hone his sound.

Since the band members are all old hometown friends, to this day they will still reunite to play local festivals & shows. They originally released an E.P. in 2008, but copies now cease to exist. With original lead guitar player: David DeRoos and original drummer: Mark Wesling, together with Green they are in the process of recording their Debut Studio Album which is set to be completed by the end of 2019.

In the late spring of 2010, Jacob Green toured solo to Colorado. There he met percussionist Tony Campbell (R.I.P.) and together they performed on the legendary Pearl Street in Boulder. The 2 then returned to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where old friend, Dom McGoy was itching to jam on his fiddle.

By August of 2010, the River Water Tribe had started, first as a trio to ultimately having numerous different band members, up to as many as a dozen different musicians being part of the group. With music being described as Bluegrass with an edge, or even Acoustic Punk. They successfully toured from Wisconsin to Colorado multiple times & even toured down south in the Appalachia Mountains.

In the winter of 2015, founding Tribe member, Tony Campbell passed away at the young age of 32. The Tribe pays homage to Tony each time they perform now & have built quite a name for themselves in River West Milwaukee & still perform when Jacob is back in the Milwaukee area.
